“I just wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed the “OurPLANE experience”. As you may remember I was very reluctant to join back in December 2003, and then the Cessna 182T arrived in January 2004 and you met me at the airport so that I could take the plane for a short flight.

The first month or six weeks I was very nervous about the experience because the airplane was always booked, as all the new owners where trying to get checked out in our new plane. Then as you told me would happen after everyone got checked out the plane was pretty much available when I wanted to fly. During my first year I believe I only had one conflict in which I really wanted the airplane and it was not available.

Then OurPLANE added a second Cessna 182 to the fleet at SGR and then with two airplanes available I have never had a conflict. I tell all my friends you would be crazy to own your airplane outright unless you fly over 200 hours a year because it just doesn’t make sense. Now I just stepped up and bought into the new Cirrus SR-22 and as expected the plane is booked just about everyday as all the owners are trying to get checked out in the airplane but I know that as soon as everyone is checked out the plane will be available about 95% of the time I want it and if it is not available I can fly a 182.

OurPLANE only gets better as airplanes are added to the fleet. I highly recommend that any pilot who is seriously thinking of buying an airplane consider the OURPLANE experience. I am a stickler that everything works on an airplane. That is one of the reason I wanted to stop renting airplanes and own my own. It never failed anytime I rented an airplane something was broke. 1 VOR out the ADF not working, the autopilot not working etc. You know that experience. At OurPLANE everything works and if it doesn’t you go online and inform flight operations about the problem and they get it fixed. I have great peace of mind that when I go to get in my airplane that everything is going to be working. You simply cannot manage the peace of mind that this gives you.

You are more than welcome to have anyone who is considering buying an OurPLANE unit give me a call. I highly recommend OurPLANE.

Thank you for calling and sharing with me your plans for SR22s in the Bay Area. I bought a share of N430P, the OurPLANE Cessna 182T in San Carlos, in January and have truly enjoyed the experience. I've found the plane well-maintained, readily available, and convenient. And, the OurPLANE staff has been great! Although I'm looking forward to the SR22 in Hayward, I'm glad that I'm flying 30P to San Diego, Santa Barbara, and points in between in the meantime.

I have just faxed the forms for completion of my Cirrus SR-22 checkout. I want to pass along some comments about the program.

As you probably know, I am a retired airline pilot as well as a retired USAF fighter pilot. Over the years, I have been in numerous training programs. For most of my Air Force career, I was an instructor pilot/flight examiner. Early on, I developed and wrote audio visual and television scripts for new Air Force instructor pilots. Later on, in Europe, I was in charge of evaluating and critiquing numerous unit training programs. After being hired by Delta Air Lines, I had to go through several checkouts and upgrades.

That being said, I feel that your program is one of the best I’ve seen. The syllabus is comprehensive. Your “New Owner CD” is straight forward and informative. The open book test really gets a person into the aircraft handbook and helps one to retain the information. The CD with the Garmin training program is also excellent. The flight instructors are first class and the required ten hours of dual flight time has made me feel comfortable and confident in the airplane.

The bottom line is that I am impressed with OurPlane and the OurPlane program. I would also like for you to pass along my thanks and compliments to your Salt Lake City instructors, Steve DeJohn and Susan Horstman.

As soon as I earned my private pilot license in April 2004, I knew I didn’t want to spend any more time flying 30-year old aircraft and knew I did want to enjoy the benefits of state-of-the-art technology. I also knew that I didn’t want to live through the learning curve and go through the hassels of insurance, maintenance storage, etc. that come with owning an aircraft - Fractional ownership seemed like a great solution for me. In September of 2004, I signed up with OurPlane which has aircraft based in Sugarland, Tx (KSGR). My experiences have been nothing short of outstanding. I am flying a 2004, G1000-equipped Skylane and loving every minute of it.

While the aircraft and avionics are a joy to use, the people at OurPlane behind the scenes are superb. They work hard to make the aircraft available when you want to fly, even when there is a scheduling conflict. There is a voice at the other end of the phone when you call needing something. I have never been disappointed. It is the people and their attitude that make this a great program for me!

Eric, I think that you will enjoy the change of weather. We have some cold weather moving through the area today, but we should be warming up to the mid 70's to 80's by the weekend. Hopefully you can catch a little of the nice weather. I am glad that Leading Edge was able to do the field service at KPIE. My offer does stand to assist whenever possible, so please don't hesitate to ask. If I have a commitment, I will let you know, but otherwise I would be happy to ferry her whenever possible. One benefit of Our Plane that I really didn't perceive until going through the first year, was how nice it is to have you guys on top of service related issues. When I was considering the purchase of an aircraft right before signing on, I assumed that a new plane would be pretty much trouble free. That was obviously naive on my part. I didn't realize how many things could go wrong, and even more so, how nice it would be to have an advocate who is working with the service technicians to make sure that everything is handled properly and on a timely basis. I am amazed at how effective you have been in this regard, especially considering the fact that you are in Canada and we are in Florida. You can quote me on that. Thanks again for all of your help. Our Plane is fortunate to have you on their team.

I think you are doing an excellent job of managing the general care of the aircraft. Your reservation system and billing are pretty automated from the user standpoint, which makes OURplane pretty transparent to the user. I.e. I don't think about you very much... the plane is there, it is ready when i get there, and it flys just fine, and the bill is paid automatically.
